Thermocoagulation – The treatment you didn’t know you needed!

Stubborn spider veins or broken capillaries got you down?

Have a skin tag that you’d really like to get rid of?

Milia bumps you’d prefer disappear?

Thermocoagulation might be the right treatment for you!

There are many common misconceptions when it comes to the removal of these types of skin anomalies, including that they require an invasive treatment strategy, lots of down time and prolonged unsightly redness and irritation while healing…but with Thermocoagulation, that’s not the case.

Depending on the condition and severity, a few treatments may be needed, but in most cases, results are immediate!

The best part?

Downtime is virtually non-existent, although you may experience immediate redness that will dissipate a few hours post treatment.

How does it work?

Thermocoagulation uses a high-frequency current to improve your skin’s appearance by reducing or eliminating unwanted skin blemishes or anomalies. This non-invasive process uses pin-point heat energy to coagulate blood capillaries, thus eliminating the tissues leading to common skin imperfections.

Using a microscopic needle to deliver mild microcurrent heat energy, the process is relatively painless and in most cases only takes a few minutes to perform!

What conditions does it treat?

Thermocoagulation provides excellent results in removing:

Broken Capillaries
BROKEN CAPILLARIES ( TELANGIECTASIA)

These are the tiny dilated blood vessels that typically appear on our face as we age or as a result of prolonged sun exposure.  Once they form, they typically do not disappear on their own, so Thermocoagulation is a great way to stop them in their tracks, quite literally!

Cherry Angiomas
CHERRY ANGIOMAS or RUBY POINTS

Often called ‘red moles’, these cherry coloured spots are common skin growths that can appear on most parts of the body.  They are groups of tiny blood vessels that form small reddish spots.  They typically start to appear once you reach your 30s.

Skin Tags
SKIN TAGS

Skin tags are small benign tumors that essentially form a small skin sack that hangs from the body. They can appear anywhere on the body, especially where the skin is continuously rubbing against clothing or other skin and are most likely in the folds or creases of the skin. They are largely harmless and easily removed with the Thermocoagulation treatment.

MILIA

Milia are tiny white or yellow bumps that appear on the skin, typically on the face near the cheeks, nose and eyes.  They are usually painless but can be irritated by chafing with clothing or sheets. They develop when flakes of skin become trapped under the skin’s surface or due to a buildup of keratin. In some cases, milia may disappear on their own, especially in young children.  However, for adults, they sometimes require treatment for removal.

Spider Veins
SPIDER OR THREAD VEINS

Spider veins are dilated capillaries that have a spider-like appearance, they typically have a red center with tentacle-like veins emerging in every direction.  While spider veins typically are found both on the face and legs, Thermocoagulation is an effective treatment for those found on the face only.  The earlier they are treated, the better the result.

How to Book

Due to the customized nature of these treatments, a complimentary 15 minute consultation is required for assessment prior to your first treatment.  Sessions typically last 15 minutes long. If you think Thermocoagulation may be the right treatment for you, you can book your consultation here.  Your Esthetician will discuss your treatment schedule and aftercare suggestions with you during your initial consultation.
